A Little About Cara
Cara Lichty, DOMP, RMT
Hi, I’m Cara Lichty — a Manual Osteopath and Registered Massage Therapist with a passion for helping people feel more at home in their bodies.
After running a successful home-based practice in Kitchener for several years, my family and I made the move to Port Elgin to be closer to family and begin a new chapter on the lakeshore.
My background in Massage Therapy heavily influences my osteopathic approach. Earlier in my career, I focused primarily on deep tissue work, but over time and through extensive continuing education, I discovered that meaningful results don’t always require aggressive treatment. I now take a gentler, more integrative approach that focuses on restoring balance within the body while still addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction.
I’m particularly passionate about helping patients with chronic pain, postural imbalances, nervous system dysregulation, stress-related tension, and the many physical changes associated with women’s health and hormones.
Every treatment is individualized and designed with the understanding that the body functions as a connected whole. My goal is not simply to chase symptoms, but to help support long-term function, resilience, and overall well-being through thoughtful, hands-on care.
A Soft Spot for Women's Health
Driven by personal experiences with hormonal imbalances, Cara is dedicated to supporting women through various life stages, including puberty, pre/post-natal care, perimenopause, and menopause. She addresses a range of issues such as digestive problems and lymphatic drainage challenges with tailored, empathetic care. Cara began her journey as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), where she gained a deep understanding of correcting musculoskeletal dysfunctions due to postural imbalances. This foundation remains central to her practice, as she works diligently to alleviate chronic pain and enhance her clients’ quality of life.
